The Vision

What We Are Creating

Cedar Knob Nexus is long-horizon cultural infrastructure: enabling creators to live/work in proximity, share tools for publishing/music/film, use AI assistively (not replace authorship), and build place-rooted IP.

Guiding Principles

  • Land before leverage
  • Story before scale
  • Ethics before extraction
  • Legacy over liquidity

Inspired by historic artist communities like Laurel Canyon—adapted for Appalachia, modern tools, and creator ownership.

The Land — Cedar Knob

A Working Mountain Preserve

Cedar Knob is a high-ridge mountain property in Sugarfork, stewarded under a conservation-first philosophy. It rises to approximately 4,109 feet, offering panoramic views and serving as the literal and symbolic anchor for all creative output here.

Land uses include selective eco-lodging and cabins, creative workspaces and studios, trail systems and land interpretation, outdoor filming locations, low-impact infrastructure development.

What We Do Not Do

  • No mass tourism
  • No high-density development
  • No speculative subdivisions
  • No short-term rental dependency

The land itself is part of the story—and part of the production pipeline.

The Proof: Land-Anchored IP

This mountain produced real, shipped work. The novel Basically Done and four albums by Pick’s Hideaway Players were created here — inspired by Cedar Knob's land, ridges, community, and sense of place.

Basically Done — The Novel

A modern Appalachian epic about integrity, betrayal, and standing your ground. Written on and about this mountain — Cedar Knob as the narrative anchor and real-world inspiration.

Cedar Knob Cycle — The Albums

Pick’s Hideaway Players soundtracks rooted in this land and community: Cedar Knob & Seven Sisters, Songs of the Sacred Earth, Featuring Cedar Knob Hearts Desire (Basically Done soundtrack), and additional releases (e.g., Guardians of Cedar Knob themes).

These are not concepts — they are live, public outputs proving the creative engine starts here on the mountain.

WebWeave Universe

A Narrative Infrastructure

WebWeave Universe is a story-canon system that allows novels, music, films, and real people to exist within a shared narrative framework.

Purpose

  • Preserve continuity across mediums
  • Allow ethical AI use through canon rules
  • Enable collaborative storytelling without dilution

WebWeave is not a platform chasing virality. It is a long-form narrative architecture.

AI Film Studio Campus

Why Film Here

Cedar Knob Nexus is being positioned as a rural AI-assisted film campus, optimized for independent filmmakers, long-form storytelling, small, distributed crews, ethical AI workflows.

Capabilities (Phased)

  • Modular studio spaces
  • Sound recording and scoring
  • AI-assisted pre-visualization and editing
  • On-terrain filming (the land as backlot)
  • Mobile production units

This model removes dependence on Hollywood geography while preserving artistic control.

Sugarfork & The Region

A Cultural Counterbalance

Sugarfork sits within reach of the Highlands–Cashiers luxury corridor (Highlands / Cashiers) but operates on a different axis.

  • Highlands/Cashiers: consumption, second homes, exclusivity
  • Sugarfork/Cedar Knob: production, culture, continuity

This creates a regional balance rather than competition.

Why This Matters

Artist communities form where land is still available, collaboration is organic, cost pressure is survivable, identity is intact. Sugarfork meets those conditions today.
